What a fun week gearing up for Easter!
Reading & Writing
We are reviewing short vowel words, beginning blends and "th," "sh," "wh," & "ch" sounds!
When you are reading with your child at home, please make sure you are encouraging your child to use our reading strategies!
Pointer Pup - pointing at each word as you read it.
Lips the Fish - getting your lips ready to sound out the word / looking at the beginning sound.
Eagle Eyes - using the picture to help with tricky words
Stretch it Snake - stretching out the sounds in a tricky word / sounding it out
On recent reading assessments many students were getting stumped on sight words - we do practice them a lot in class but some of them are tricky - practicing as home would only benefit students!
In math, we are strengthening our addition and subtraction within 10 skills! I will send home occasional math work that is optional practice - students who bring the math work back done to the best of their ability will get a sticker!
Here are some pictures of our Easter//Spring fun this week!
*****This Newsletter Blog will be updated at the end of each week! I will post pictures, bulleted points, and an explanation of exciting events from throughout the school week. The only pictures posted will be of the students whose parents indicate on the Media Disclosure Form that it is okay to publish their pictures online.
