Monday and Tuesday afternoon this week we did NWEA testing. With the kids, we did not call it testing - we called it a computer activity as we didn't want them to get concerned or nervous. This testing will give us a baseline for each student and will be a way for us to see all their growth from now to the springtime when we will take it again.
All children did such a great job! This was the first time we used the Chromebooks, too -- Ask your child about using the Chromebooks!
KJS Letters K, L, M, N, O
This week we worked on letters K, L, M, N, O! Ask your child what the letter name is and what sound it makes. Then ask them to write the letter! The animals students colored for each of these letters were Kangaroo, Lion, Moose, Narwal, and Octopus (the sound K, L, M, N, and O make in these words makes the sound we are working on).
Below are some pictures from our centers today (Friday)!
In math we continued to talk about 2D shapes: squares, rectangles, circles, hexagons, and triangles. We also began talking about 3D shapes on Thursday and Friday: cylinder, cube, cone, sphere (as shown below). Ask your child to tell give you examples of objects in "real life" that look like these "math shapes."
