Whole Body Listening - This week we talked about what it means to listen with your whole body and what it looks like. Ask your child to tell you all about it! They are all REALLY good at Whole Body Listening!!!
We also began our first math unit this week, which is titled Two Dimensional and Three Dimensional Shapes.
We discussed characteristics of two dimensional triangles, squares, rectangles, and circles in addition to briefly looking at shapes such as hearts, stars, trapezoids, hexagons and octagons. We practiced drawing and sorting some of these shapes, too. Ask your child to share with you what they learned about shapes (again, hints are helpful if they are stuck) and what shape is there favorite.
REMINDER: Each student has a YELLOW folder --- this folder needs to be brought back to school EVERY day! I put important fliers and information in those folders every afternoon.
*** This afternoon, I put a letter in yellow folder reminding you of the book bag process - the afternoon flew by and I forgot to give each student a book bag... The book bag will go home with each student on Monday and has to be returned to school next Thursday!!!
PICTURE DAY forms went out in yellow folders today, too!
Have a great weekend!!!
*****This Newsletter Blog will be updated at the end of each week! I will post pictures, bulleted points, and an explanation of exciting events from throughout the school week. The only pictures posted will be of the students whose parents indicate on the Media Disclosure Form that it is okay to publish their pictures online.
